Welcome to the 2010 Homes Tour
From the historic Austin State Hospital through some grand surprises in the heart of Hyde Park, we have history, style, and community to share. In addition to the State Hospital, the 2010 tour will feature homes from the 1800’s to 2000’s. Tour homes include the New York-designed and decorated Herzele home on Avenue H, the historic Shipe-Mansbendel House on Avenue F, the beautifully updated abode of the Hohengarten family on Avenue H, and the tremendous home and grounds of the Mullen-Monahan family on Duval.
The tour begins at the Austin State Hospital, 4110 Guadalupe Street. Air-conditioned shuttle busses will transport you in comfort between the featured homes while our expert docents share stories and history of Hyde Park. There will also be live music and an artists’ fair on the grounds of the State Hospital.
